Two Great Places to Eat in Fredericksburg TX
A pair of great Texas Eateries.
Visiting Fredericksburg, TX means enjoying places to eat that are sure to be more tempting then the usual fast food and chain fare found in most places.
Kelly’s Cafe,
Great food with an atmosphere you will appreciate.
Housed in a early 21st century Arts and Crafts Style Bungalow; Kelly’s is pleased to present their own “handcrafted American food.” You’ll find them right on Main Street. They make a great complement to your time spent shopping in Fredericksburg, TX. The menu offers variety at lunch and dinner. Anyone in your party can find something to enjoy at Kelly’s Cafe. There is always a fresh soup of the day, Veggie Delight sandwich, their house special Bungalow Burger,Tex-Mex and other reasons to enjoy a nice sit down meal.
At Kelly’s you can try something different without going too way out.
Take the Flying Chihuahua Burrito for example. It’s got bacon, (and who doesn’t love bacon?) potatoes, eggs, and cheese served in a flour tortilla. What about their Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin with sauteed green apples? That’s on their dinner menu along with fish, chicken and steak entrees, and great sounding salads meant to be a meal in themselves.
You can also dig into particularly “Texan” specialties like their Chicken Fried Steak. It comes with cream gravy, mashed potatoes, corn-squash saute. There are sweet potatoes fries you can order as a side if you are so inclined.
Alamo Springs Cafe
A fun choice for eating in our area.
The Alamo Springs Cafe, another one of a “Texas” kind. In fact Texas Monthly magazine has featured them on the front cover.
The Cafe has plenty of reasons to be so celebrated.
- the burger that was voted one of Texas’s best (and showed up on that cover we mentioned.)
- the super fresh quality of their foods.
- the wide range of menu slections
Using the freshest local ingredients the cafe can find, they put together nightly cordon bleu specials. In this casual and friendly Hill Country atmosphere you’ll find that the fries and onion rings are made fresh in the kitchen, the milkshakes are hand dipped, and even the ice tea is fresh made Texas style.Visiting Fredericksburg and want to take in some of the real Texas? Take a drive to the Alamo Springs Cafe – through the Old Tunnel Wildlife Area. The Cafe is located “right next to the bat cave.” Watch the bats and stick around on a Saturday night to catch live musicians in their natural surroundings.
